In November, Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) of International University, VNU-HCM, organized the Education for Sustainable Development Program with three main activities related to economics, society, and the environment.
Regarding the environmental aspect, on November 14, 2024, the activities “IU Go Goals” and “Climate Fresk” took place enthusiastically with the participation of more than 50 students from the university. In “IU Go Goals,” a creative mini-game format helped players have an engaging experience by rolling the dice and overcoming challenges on the road to 2030, while also gaining knowledge about the United Nations’ sustainable development goals.
Students enthusiastically participated in the IU Go Goals mini-game with a board game and puzzle format.
On the same day, “Climate Fresk” provided participants with a panoramic view of climate change. Applying logical thinking and teamwork skills under the guidance of climate change experts, groups enthusiastically assembled cards based on cause-effect relationships and presented their findings together. Afterward, the groups gathered to share their reflections on responding to climate change at various scales.

On November 26, 2024, the experiential activity “From Fabric to Fantastic” transformed unused fabrics into useful items. The activity attracted more than 25 staff and students of the university. With enthusiastic guidance from Tadu Craft Company Limited, Vivo Verda Store Business Household, and MBA. Nghiem Thi Nhung, participants became skilled artisans, repurposing leftover fabric into handbags, keychains, wallets, and more.
Skillful students and staff often crafted extremely adorable items and vote for the most impressive one.
Simultaneously, an old clothes collection activity was held with the support of REshare Joint Stock Company, receiving over 30 kg of unused clothes from the university’s students. The clothes will undergo careful screening for donation to disadvantaged areas, while the remainder will be recycled to enhance value, promoting the circular economy.
To conclude the program, on November 28, 2024, a sharing session titled “Everlasting Vietnamese Culture, Towards Sustainable Development” took place with the participation of over 100 staff, students from International University, and University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
At the opening of the sharing session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice Principal of the university, expressed: “International University, with its mission of being an international educational institution infused with Vietnamese cultural identity, is dedicated to creating a modern learning environment where global knowledge values blend harmoniously with the essence of national culture. International integration does not entail dissolution; it presents an opportunity for Vietnamese culture to flourish and for us to proudly showcase to the world a nation rich in tradition and striving for sustainable development. It is you—dynamic and creative young students—who will serve as the bridge to fulfill this mission, bringing Vietnamese cultural values alongside global knowledge.”

Through this sharing session, today’s youth have embraced and continue the path of preserving and nurturing a diverse and sustainable national cultural identity, echoing the sentiments of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: “Culture is the soul of the nation. When culture thrives, so does the nation; conversely, the loss of culture signifies the loss of the nation. Culture is the spiritual essence of a nation, guiding its path.”
